Zoned Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Zoned handles information when you use the site.
It reflects the current MVP implementation in this codebase and should be reviewed again before a broader production launch.
Information we collect
- Authentication data from Google sign-in or email magic-link sign-in, such as your email address, name and profile image when those are provided by the identity provider
- Profile data stored in Supabase, including display name, avatar override, preferred language, XP and member-since metadata
- Community content you submit, including area reports, caution reports, comments, discussion posts, discussion replies, place suggestions, favorites and moderation reports
- Waitlist and launch-vote data, including email address, selected city, locale and a browser-generated voter key
- Technical and usage data, including page views, map interactions, outbound link clicks and basic device-side storage used for sessions, drafts and UI state
How we use information
Zoned uses information to operate the product, authenticate users, display community content, personalize the experience, maintain moderation workflows, understand product usage and communicate about launch updates when you explicitly request them.
Authentication
The current implementation supports Google sign-in through Google Identity Services and Supabase authentication. The codebase also supports email magic-link sign-in for some publishing flows. Supabase persists authentication state in browser storage using the configured auth storage key.
Analytics and local storage
In production, Zoned loads Google Analytics and uses Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights. The codebase also uses localStorage and sessionStorage for auth persistence, language preference, saved drafts, anonymous report identifiers, waitlist voting keys, recommendation state and crash-recovery logging.
The codebase does not include a custom first-party cookie implementation or a cookie banner. Third-party services may still use their own cookies or similar technologies as part of their products.
User-generated content
Neighborhood reports, ratings, comments, discussions, replies, place suggestions and moderation reports may be stored in Supabase and, where the product flow makes them public, shown to other users. Please do not submit private or sensitive information that you do not want associated with your content.

Data retention
Zoned keeps account, profile and community data for as long as it is reasonably needed to operate the service, maintain moderation history, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and improve the product. Some browser-stored data remains on your device until it expires, is overwritten or is manually cleared.
Your rights
If you are in the EU or another location with similar privacy rights, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection in relation to your personal data, and to ask for a copy of data associated with your account where applicable.
Account and data deletion
The current MVP does not expose a self-serve account deletion flow in the UI. To request account or data deletion, contact Zoned at the email listed on the contact page and include enough information to identify your account and the content involved.
International transfers and GDPR note
Zoned may rely on service providers that process data outside your home country. If you use the service from the EU, Zoned intends to handle personal data with GDPR-aware practices, but the legal operator name and formal jurisdiction still need to be published before a full production launch.
Changes to this policy
Zoned may update this Privacy Policy as the product changes. The latest version should always be posted on this page with copy that matches the current implementation.
